The Concept
Peninsula Centre was created by re-designing the existing structure, an
old building called Tank Mill, for adaptive re-use. A large pond that lay between
the building and the main S.S. Rao Road had to be retained for the mills' daily
operational use. An independent access from the main road over the existing pond
had to be provided and all amenities required in a modern office building had
to be provided. The dilapidated mill was converted into a world-class complex
that was inviting and striking. This was achieved with its contemporary design
and aesthetics - a plaza in front of the building gave it visual depth and space,
a parking floor above the water tank provided parking space and an atrium introduced
allowed natural light into dark interior spaces.
The Creation
Today, the restored Peninsula Centre has a new sophistication
to it. This centrally located, well-designed, state-of-the-art
business complex offers efficient office space for
premier companies as well as easy access to different
parts of the city. Peninsula Centre has attracted
knowledge-based firms, media houses and agencies
to the complex.
