- A company that was founded by three entrepreneurs in 1962 for the manufacturing and supply of switches, relays, regulators and horns for catering to the Replacement and Export market requirement, PMP was taken over by the Ashok Piramal Group in 1981.
- It grew steadily and won recognition in the OE market for its quality and reliability, gaining reputed customers such as Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Ashok Leyland, Hindustan Motors, Maruti, Eicher, to name a few.

History
- Originally known as SS Miranda Pvt. Ltd., the company was established in 1945 in Bombay as a manufacturer of High Speed Steel Tool bits, Hacksaw blades and Carbon Steel backsaw blades.
- It was taken over by the Ashok Piramal Group in 1978 that started an additional manufacturing
facility at Ankleshwar, Gujarat, in the following years.
- In 1994, it was the first High Speed Steel cutting tool manufacturing company in India to be ISO 9000 certified.
Miranda Tools Today
- Miranda Tools manufactures toolbits, saws, drills, end mills, and distributes and sells tools including low alloy blades, carbide tipped tools, masonry drills and TESA Measuring instruments.
- 45% of its turnover is exported to UK, Europe, South Africa and the Asia Pacific region.
- Since 2005, Miranda has been manufacturing High Speed Steel Taps by setting up a Joint Venture company with M/s. French Engineering Works, South Africa.

- Miranda Tools plans to keep up its growth rate of 30% every year and reach a turnover of Rs. 100 crores by 2009.

History
- The company was a green field project and established in 1985 as a manufacturer of hard ferrite magnets at Nasik, near Mumbai, in technical collaboration with Tokyo Kikai Sangyo Ltd. of Japan.
- In the year 1996, the company entered into a technology transfer agreement with TDK, Japan - the world leaders in ferrite manufacturing technology and the largest producer of magnets.
- With the help of TDK, G.P. Electronics Ltd. established a new plant with Japanese technology in the year 1998.
G.P. Electronics Today
- It is the era of economical liberalization and globalization, when progressive reduction in import duties has seen the end of companies that can no longer compete with low cost products from China. In these times, TDK technology has come in handy for G.P. Electronics. Today it is a tier II supplier to auto majors such as Hero Honda, Kinetic, Honda Scooters & Motor cycles India Ltd., among others.

- G.P. Electronics is always trying to raise the bar and aims to progressively increase segment production capacity from the existing 50 tons to 150 tons in the next three years.
